Melanie was born in San José, Costa Rica, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Costa Rica, where she focused on environment, gender, and political studies. She later worked at the university supporting social welfare projects serving vulnerable communities, including low‑income families, migrants, children, and women.
Her social work background gives her a strong sense of empathy and a deep understanding of how people navigate complex social and political systems. She brings that same compassion and work ethic to every client she supports, believing that kindness and thoughtful service strengthen communities.
Melanie joined ZafiroLaw to deepen her knowledge of family and immigration law in the United States. As a Latin American, she has seen firsthand how people from across the world migrate here for many different reasons, inspiring her commitment to helping clients through these processes with care. She values the central role family plays in people’s lives and is dedicated to easing each step of the journey.
Outside of work, Melanie enjoys community activities, volunteering with ecological organizations, exercising, and reading. She cares deeply about her relationships and approaches her work and life with enthusiasm, responsibility, and genuine warmth.
Melanie is a fluent Spanish speaker.
